Only 1 week to go! Here’s the latest update

With only a week to go until the 10th WordCamp Raleigh, we thought we’d share with you some latest news and updates.

IMPORTANT: Venue access and parking

The venue for WordCamp Raleigh is the Engineering Buildings on Centennial Campus at NC State University. Registration is in the atrium of Engineering Building 1 and sessions are in lecture halls in both Engineering Building 1 and 2. We have a map here.

Access to the venue and parking are heavily restricted this year due to a very large event happening at Dix Park. Please make sure you review the important information on our Location page on how to get to the venue and where to park.

Sessions and Workshops

Your ticket gives you access to any session on any track as well as the workshops. You don’t have to stick with one track and you can move freely between any track and any session.

We do ask that if you want to attend any of the workshops that you please register your interest here.

After Party

We are holding an After Party for WordCamp attendees at 7pm on Saturday 6th. The venue is The Raleigh Beer Garden at 614 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. There is parking close by in a parking garage on Tucker Street.

Whilst this is a bar, it is a large location with a big outdoor area. It’s perfect for networking with your fellow WordCamp attendees, speakers, sponsors and organizers. You don’t have to drink to attend, it’s open and inclusive to all so you can relax after a full day of learning about WordPress.

KidsCamp

This is the very first KidsCamp at WordCamp Raleigh and we’re excited to be able to bring WordPress to kids between the ages of 7 and 17. If you’re attending KidsCamp or are interested in attending with your kids then please review the information on our KidsCamp page and our FAQs page.

Parents who want to attend both KidsCamp and WordCamp will need to purchase a KidsCamp ticket for their child and a WordCamp ticket for themselves.

Lunch on Saturday

We’re pleased to be partnering again with NC State University to provide lunch on Saturday. Lunch is included in your WordCamp ticket, lunch for children is included in their KidsCamp ticket (parents who want lunch will need to purchase a WordCamp ticket).

Lunch is at On The Oval located across the lawn from the Engineering Buildings. On The Oval is a campus dining facility which will have stations open for a variety of food, including:

  • A BBQ station
  • A burger bar
  • A taco bar
  • A panini bar
  • A salad bar

Each station will have a variety of choices including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. There will be staff and volunteers on hand to answer your questions and direct you to the various stations.

We’ll have more information for you next week and all attendees can expect to receive an email next week with important information to help you enjoy WordCamp.
